History
AIM Processing began in 1993, as specialists in small parts with just two presses and two active owners - a toolmaker and a plastic processor. The Longmont area has been a hub of injection molding since the 1960's, and the company grew from its initial customer base by handling the overflow work and challenging projects from other molders. We were a molder's molder, but word spread to customers. The company developed a reputation for handling complex projects, and it grew quickly into the custom molding niche. Customers with small part needs in aerospace, electronic enclosures, and medical devices knocked on our door.
By 1998, AIM moved to a new facility with five presses and a full production staff. Thinking ahead, the company adopted Quality Management practices of organizations much larger than itself. Quality Management and the structure for growth are easier to build in early than retrofit later.
In 2006, the founding owners retired and sold to present management. Shortly after, the company added a sixth machine and a second shift. In 2007, the company acquired the operations of another area molder and blossomed into a 7x24 operation with eleven presses. This is a six-fold increase in our production capacity in just a few years. With minimal increases in our overhead, we became competitive on a global scale.
Today, we serve over 100 customers and ship worldwide - from France to Mexico to Thailand. Our customers are a mix of Fortune 500, midsize manufacturers, and entrepreneurs. We continue to hold to our founding principles of service and quality, our strategic focus on small plastic parts, and our values of honesty and hard work. Some hold that bigger is better. At AIM Processing, we believe that being better will make you bigger.
