Small Part Injection Molding
AIM Processing specializes in small part plastic injection
molding. We define small parts as the size of your fingernail to the size of your hand, although we are capable of a little smaller and a little larger. Injection molding is the process where plastic resin, in pellet form, is heated & sheared until it reaches a viscous state, injected under enormous pressure into a steel or aluminum mold, cooled until hardened, and then ejected. Through injection molding, we are able to pair complex geometries with low cost, repeatable manufacturing.
We work with engineering grades of plastic. Engineering grades refer to materials that have specific properties in mind such as chemical resistance, flexural strength, and yield strength to name a few. Some of the materials we work with every day include ABS, acetal, LCP, nylon, polycarbonate, polyesters, PBT, PEI, PPO, and TPE.
We operate 7 days a week at our facility in Longmont, Colorado. With 11 presses, we have a mixture of automated, lights-out production and press-side attended operations. This production model enables us to keep our costs low, but our quality high. Our front office staff includes 2 mechanical engineers and a toolmaker to help you design cost effective, high quality solutions based upon your needs. Our production staff draws from the best in the area, highly motivated people with experience in plastics and high attention to detail. We pride ourselves with low turnover, recognizing that high turnover drives training costs higher and quality lower
